Last weekend we had such wonderful weather that we decided to take a trip to the “Rheinhessische” with our ’73 Beetle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

True to my motto “combine the beautiful with the useful”, I had the idea to search for easter fountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you know that the tradition originally comes from Franconian Switzerland?
Recent research has shown that the Franconian Easter fountains are a deliberate recreation of customs in the late 19th or early 20th century (source: Wikipedia).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No matter how old this custom is – I find it beautiful!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Actually I wanted to fill the dozen, but not quite as many places had a decorated fountain as I originally thought “naively” \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n
